Meal No 10 - Tuna Pasta Bake
Apr 3rd, 2007 by Jason
After a few weeks break from my Monday Night Challenge to keep cooking different vegetarian dishes, I’m back on the tools. Last night was another dish I had been saving for one of the evenings when I had not planned anything or done the shopping.
Tuna Pasta bake is actually one of my favourite meals, simple and tasty. It’s usually my partner that cooks it at least once a fortnight. I don’t know if we would eat it that often were it not for my frequent requests!
Easy enough dish to make:
Stir fry some veg (whatever is in the fridge)
Cook the pasta
Make the cheese sauce (guess at 2/3 pint milk + couple tsp cornflower + grated cheese)
Put pasta in oven dish, spread veg over top.
Put layer of tuna over top of veg.
Carefully pour cheese sauce over the top.
Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
Put in oven until warm.
Put under grill to brown.
Eat!
Careful with the cheese sauce! Looking down I noticed that I am wearing the same trousers that I spilled a splash of cheese sauce down the front of last night. It has dried into a suspiciously crusty stain.
One of the advantages of this meal is it’s easy to cook enough to have plenty left for lunch the next day - as I am about to do.
